i´m desperately searching for help concerning the following problem with integration of MS Word to our BDN:
We are using SAP ECC 6.0 and Office Integration with MS Word 2007. We created document templates in MS Word witch contain variables, integrated as MergeField in the Word Template.
This works quite well, but we have problems when using the IF term.
For example field code: IF "MERGEFIELD XXX" = "<<ERROR>>" "" "MERGEFIELD XXX " * MERGEFORMAT .
The term doesn't work, everytime when we create a new document from the template we got a blank line.
Can anybody help me with this problem?

I have been researching SCN for some info on my question but have not been successful. I'm hoping someone reading this can help.
We would like to add an email from Outlook to a DMS DIR. Also, we have a requirement to add an attachement from an Outlook email to a DMS DIR. How can that be accomplished?
I have created a .MSG application workstation with parameter %AUTO% based on comment from a posting on SCN. When I try to add original file to a DIR, choose application .msg and open original file, my only options are local and networked drives. I don't see a way to select Outlook email. What am I missing?

i cann't find any more a list of SAP certified ocr software as it was available a few years ago on SAP.com ...
Any idea on how to get such a list ? i know already some of these vendors but would like to have a full updated picture for ECC 6 ..

I have never Worked on Archiving Scenarion.I want to understand If I want to archive SAP DMS Documents.Actually I want to know how Archiving process Happens.
1. What are requirements from Hardware side?Means If I store Original Application files using Content Server.Do I require seperate hardware for Archiving?
2. Will Also DIR Data be archived with it?Document No, Type,part version description etc.
3. If Originals are archived , Whether original file are deleted from content server and stored in Archiving server.
4. What are step by step configuration for Archiving ?
So friends waiting for your Guidance and help.

We need to configure such that some customers will have access to CV03 ( Display), view the originals but they should not be allowed to Print or Copy To or Save To Local file, they can just view the originals..
Please let me know how to restrict these three options in ECL viewer.

I created object link to MM:
- Object EKPO Purchase Order screen 0248 until here it´s ok.
I need create more object link in MM, for example:
- Quotation EBAN
- Contract EKPO
- Purchase Request EKPO
In true I created this objects links, but in DMS when I try acess Quotation (transaction code ME48) or Contract (ME33K) or Purchase Request (ME23N) in object link...anything happens. In MM when I try to do this it´s ok...I access correct document in DMS.

I am new to SAP and well versed with Documentum.
As Documentum have OOTB connectors with SAP to archive the content and metadata in Documentum repository.
Lots of configurations and 2 modules AS4SAP and CS4SAP need to be used.
My basic questions related to Archiving process.
1. How fast the Data will be available in the Documentum repository - For example using various SAP modules - data /content / document got generated - will it immediately available in Documentum repository ? or it cannot be available before 24 hrs ? is that Configurable.
2. Does it provide in response as URL for Documensts in Documentum repository - ofcouse I need to form URL in Documentum - Does it immediately return as response with formed URL of content ? For example 1 go it archives 100 of document objects - will I get response as 100 URL by default ?
3. Once URL / Documentum DRL is available with me - is that enough to transfer to other system to access the data ? Agree that appropriate permission/security on Documentum need to be added.
Appreciate help on this - Need some clarification on urgent basis.

i try to use the document creation via transaction. Additional i want to use the field "Document Desc." as a required field. But if i want to create a document for example with equipment i got following error massage. "All required fields must be filled out" DRAT-DKTXT
I can't find any chance to fill this field as well a solution...

We are experiencing a bothersome issue when changing the status on documents in EasyDMS. We are on version 7.1.4.3 and also have PLM 7.02 implemented with ECC 6.0 EhP7.
When we change the status of a document to Released or Inactive, we are getting the warning message "Status does not allow you to change certain data" (message 26035). We know the effect of changing to these statuses and would prefer to not have to click through "OK" (potentially multiple times) when changing to this status.
When changing the status using CV02N in ECC, it appears the message is being displayed at a different point in the code from EasyDMS. The message is displayed (correctly) after having changed the status and then attempting to edit the document.
Based on the differences between EasyDMS and CV02N, it would appear the message is being displayed in EasyDMS at the wrong time. We have not found any notes that would indicate this is a bug.
Does anyone know how to suppress warning/information messages upon changing the status on documents via EasyDMS?

we have requirement of saving quality certificate which is generated against delivery in QC03. I have done the following settings in configuration to activate archivelink.
1. In Transaction OAC2: Created a document type 'QMOCERT' with Class as 'PDF'.
2. In Transaction OAC3: Link this 'document type' with Business object and content repository ID
Object type = LIPS
Document type = QMOCERT
Link Status = X
Cont.Rep.ID = A1
Link = TOA01
3. In Transaction V/34: Set the output control.
Application = V2 - Shipping
Outputypes = LQCB
In Storage system tab: Storage mode = 3 print and archive
Document type = QMOCERT
. In Transaction SPAD: Check whether already a output device ARCH exists in SPAD.
4. Output device ARCH is created SPAD
1. Call transaction code SPAD.
2. Click on Output Devices-> Display.
3. Click on Change.
4. Click on Create and make the following entries:
Output Device = ARCH
Short Name = ARCH
Device Type = ARCHLINK: SAP Archive Link Archiver
Spool Server = Press F4 to get a list of spool server. Choose one of them as per requirement.
Device Class = Archiving Program
Change to tab 'Access Method' & enter value in 'HostSpool Access Method' = I: Archiving Device
5. In Transaction OAC0: using this transaction finally added the above Output device 'ARCH' in my Archivelink Content repository.
with this setting, I believe the document (which is generated via smart form) should get archived when we do the print. But in my it is not happening.
please suggest if i have missed anything in configuration. this is a business critical requirement for current project.
please guide me in this if there is specific process to do archiving of outgoing document such as QM certificates.

I am trying to configure TREX server with SAP DMS for searching the text within an original in a sandbox.
When i Upload Originals in DMS they are getting stored in a content Repository DMS_C1_ST. Storage type: SAP System Database.
I have done all the necessary configurations which Includes tcodes SRMO, SKPR07,SKPRO6, Assign Relevant MIME types etc.,
I have following Questions:
1) In SKPR07 when i click diagnosis All are green except two rows which appears in red .
a) Language must be defined as a mandatory attribute in SDOKCLPROP
b) NOCATID
2) Do TREX search has the capability to search the documents stored in SAP System Database apart from Content server. Right now there is no Content server in place.
Please let me know your comments or suggestions where i might have forgotten something to configure or suggest me the best way.

I have used SAP doc mgmt for years. We copied a client and now when I configure a Class to my DMS DIR and go to CV01n Additional Data NONE of the characteristic entry boxes show up. Additional Data is blank.
It appears there must be some high level setting missing in the client. I have checked all authorizations and cannot find a difference between this client and all of the other clients we have. Only this one client does not show the class characteristics in the Additional Data tab.
Any ideas of why this standard function is not working). It does not matter which DIR I config the 017 class to, nothing shows on Additional Data.

Message 200: (OK)
Message 404: (Not Found)
Is it OK? What is the problem?

Hi All,
I am installed the TREX7.1 sucesufully, after that i ran the script
python Runinstallertest.py and it ran succesfully with returncode 000 and allservers are showing ok.
I have configured a RFc connection to test system and rfc is working fine(doen connection tests from ends got passed).
I am executed the tcode trexadmin and selected the rfc now it is not showing any services in the services tab and showing the errore code 4950
as below.

I am experienced in SAP DMS but not in LSMW.
I would like to use LSMW for Mass Uplaod of Documents and would like to give the input in the below format.
I was able to create LSMW for Doc Upload using Recording option but it will not give me the original path location.
I know there is a BAPI too for Document create which is BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE but dont know how to use it in LSMW>
Which option is best to be used in this case. Below find the input format of the file which am looking

Hi all,
I am currently working on archiving some of our DMS documents. We are doing this by moving the docs that meet the criteria to a different storage category on a different server.
I would like to quickly establish how many docs we have archived so far by seeing how many docs are in the "Archive" storage category. Is there a back end table that has this information? I just want to do a quick count of all docs where storage category is "Archive".

I'm totally new regarding SAP DMS and I'm a bit confused about what can or can't do, so maybe the question will be quite generic and unclear.
The scenario in my company is that we have multiple repository servers where we store our documents. When a document is created or modified in one of these repositories a new record is also created/modified in SAP DMS, but this DMS entry only contains the basic metadata information and a URL link to the document, not the content. When the user is in SAP DMS, the only way to access the document content, is via the link that will open the browser outside of SAP GUI and access the repository data using the laptop credentials.
I would like to know if DMS provides some kind of interface to be able to access the document content from SAP. Now we only have this unidirectional interface from the repository that creates the record in DMS with the metadata but there is nothing to retrieve the content.
Our main purpose is that we want to download all the files linked to a user (we have a logic to determine if a DMS file is linked to a user). The content of these files may be stored in different content repositories. So I would like to read the binary data in SAP from the different repositories and then be able to download it.
