Not able to check in a document

Hi,

 

We have created two users. For example A & B. User A has all access and user B has only Document Maintainenace authroizations (zsap_plmwui_dms_maintain).

First step: i have logged in as user A and created a document and was able to check in a file.

Second Step: i have logged in as user B and created a document but not able to check in a file.

 

Note : The file i am trying to upload &b doc type is same for both the users. But for the user B i am getting an error as "Error Uploading".

 

Error details:

Message no. 26128

You want to upload a file under path C:\Users\xxxxx\Desktop\test.docx. This is not possible. Perhaps the file does not exist.

Check the access path for the file

 

Could anyone please help me on this,

Easy DMS and original content versions

Hi,

 

Does anyone know if it's possible to view and activate original content versions in Easy DMS? This is the same standard functionality as in SAP DMS. We are using eDMS 6.0 SP10 (Unicode)

CV04N-Searching across multiple classes that have the same characteristics

In CV04N- is there a way to search across mutliple classes that have the same characteristics?

 

For example I created 3 new class types each assinged to a new class, each class having the same characteristics.

 

Say if I have a characterisitics called Contract Name.  I need to be able to search for a contract name across all 3 classes.

 

The search results in CV04N defaults to class type 017 so it only shows characterisitcs relate to that type, Is there a way to get the characteristics for the new created class types to show?

 

I know in CV04N you can only search one class type and class at a time.

 

Does anyone know of a way to fulfill these requirements, without creating a customized report?

Search across multiple classes having common characteristics

Hi,

 

We have created a 3 document types corresponding to 3 classes.

Each Class has multiple Characteristics on its own, but 1 characteristic is common across all the 3 classes.

 

Class Type for all is 017 i.e Document Management,

 

Now when I login into CV04N, and I select all the 3 Document types , I want to have the ability to select the common characteristic.

By default, I can see only one class can be selected and thus output will have only one Document type.

Private Folder error

I had a user log on to Easy DMS for the first time and he did not have authorization to create a folder which the system then created a document instead.

 

Now the user has authorization but with initial login and trying to create a private folder, they system is giving error that document already exist.

 

How do I correct this so the user can set a private folder during initial login.

 

The system is defaulting the users id as the document number which is already used with the incorrect login.

Bulk Upload of Data in DMS for material master

Hi ,

 

I want to upload 5,00,000 image files to DMS for Material master table.

Please explain the process of doing so for bulk records.

 

i can create one document in DMS and Map it with Material now.

 

Is there any way to do map files uploaded with the corressponding item number ? There is also a possibility of one material having many images.

document releaser and approver can not be the same person

Hi

 

I have four statuses to a document type In work, Approved, Released and Archived. Now my requirement is like document approve and release should be done by two different user ID's, they must not be the same persons. System should not allow the same user id to do so. System has to throw a error message.

 

How this can be achieved through standard configuration settings? what steps need to follow?

PLM 7.03 DMS Plug-in error

Working with PLM 7.03 gui and DMS, I receive an error that the plug-in is not responding.  Possibly the plug-in is deactivated or not installed.

One of my colleagues does not receive this error.

 

How do I resolve this within my PC.

Windows 7 64 bit.

Issue with WF-Batch

Dear Friends,

 

We have implemented a functionality wherein in Sales order documents will be attached through GOS(Generic Object services). we have installed Content server and documents through GOS(Create--->Create Attachment) are storing in Storage category of content server. Its working fine.

 

Now we have an issue wherein the documents from the user WF-BATCH are also started pointing to the Storage category of Content Server. Earlier it was pointing to SOFFDB. Is there anything issue with configuration. Why WF-BATCH is saving in content server. Will be there any impact. Please suggest how to correct.

Not able to Upload of Document in DMS using BAPI

Hi

 

I'm not able to upload Documents using BAPI (BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2) from SE37 as well as an RFC call (using Java)

On executing  it provides with a new Document No. but Files does not get uploaded.

 

Also, when I use BAPI (CVAPI_DOC_CHECKIN), it uploads the file when used from SAP System (through SE37), but if called through RFC (using Java) , it does not uploads the file.

 

When providing the same details using CV01N or CV02N , Documents from systems gets attached/ uploaded.

 

Please help!!

I'm trying the same for past 8-9 days but without any luck.

Regarding DMS

Hi experts,

 

I am using netweaver for PLM. Basically I am abap developer and First time I m into PLM

 

Here the business is using customized the t-code CV01N , CV02N and CV03N in net weaver

 

Required.

 


The 3rd members will create any document in their tool and while saving those document has to save in DMS i.e. CV01N with unique number and those data has to upload into as xml attachment.

 

     whenever user wants to edit the document has to pick those attachment and will edit then again will save it. while saving it has to create another document unique number and attachment.

 

Let me know, How I can receive the file and upload into DMS. ie. CV01N. What the mandatory configure I need to do in sap plm.

 

how to edit the upload the document and will try to save.

 

I have to do these activity using Web dynpro.

 

If possible step by step approach is helpful for me.

 

After google it I come to know I can perform the task using standard bapi:

Create new DIR version - LOST characteristic values

Hi all,

 

We are facing issue if loosing Characteristic Values when maintained in IP classification of DIR - new version.

 

User is following below steps.

 

1. Created New DIR

2. Added original file

3. Went to Classification Screen and added classes and characteristics

4. Realized there was an error in the original file, went back to first screen. Deleted File, fixed original file, added corrected original file to DIR.

    (Note: Not saved the DIR, it was left open all this time.)

5. Went to the classification screen to double check everything was ok.

6. Here is what I see – nothing except the retention code.

7. If I had just save this. It would have been available to all users!



Want to know why this is happening. Is there any standard SAP solution available for this issue.

Any pointers will be highly appreciated.

Store document uploaded in MIRO (Service for Object) in DMS

Dear All,


We have a business requirement to store documents in Vendor invoices/ Purchase Orders etc.. We have the standard option of creating attachment in Service for Object & view the same there. But not to increase the load on our SAP server we want the documents uploaded to be saved in DMS. We do not want to use CV01N etc. We want user to attach the documents in transaction itself & should also be able to view in the transaction itself. Please guide us how to activate the same functionality.


Though there are some discussions in the forum on this but its not very clear to me.

Should it be possible in easyDMS...

...to view a file - checked out by another user ?

 

First the DIR is created - and the file is checked-in...

...then another user check-out this file (edit file).

Full Text Search in DMS

Dear DMS\TREX Experts,

 

I have done the following steps for creating index.

  1. Create search server relationship with assign the RFC destination and results are ok.
  2. Create the Index Categories and its active.
  3. Create the document info record and attached the originals.
  4. Create Document Info Record,
  5. Attached the original file file Name“Full Text Search” Full Text name is “Index”
  6. Call the T.code SKPR07
  7. Select the document class” DMS_PCD1” Language “EN” with document area is DMS.
  8. “index/De-Index”  Trigger process button from Mass action.
  9. All Documents are index.
  10. When I select the button Indexed Document then all documents shows with the name of document ID with New Status.
  11. Call T.Code CV04N Document Search with full text search. I found the message no document found.

Kindly tell me where I missing the configuration. Need your urgent reply.

Document Type Description in Document Attachment

Hi Experts,

 

We have implemented SAP OpenText Document Access for one of our client. For Standard Transaction like FB03 we have created several Document Type e.g. "Asset - Bill Copy". When we are attaching one PDF document for FB03 t-code, in the Attachment List the corresponding Document Type description "Asset - Bill Copy" is not displaying. Only Icon, Title (Description given by user), Creator Name, Created On, Typ, Created at, File Name etc..these details are displaying. Now Client requirement is the Document Type description "Asset - Bill Copy" need to display on Attachment List.

My client want to implement SAP DMS. I am new to SAP DMS. They asks me about "the server sizing  and what are all the information required to do an SAP DMS implementation.

 

My question is what are the requirements and informations are to be collected for SAP DMS before implementing.

Not able to open '.pvz' format file

Hello All,

 

We need to open files with format '.pvz'. For this, we have created  a 'workstation application' as shown in the screenshot:Capture.PNG

In 'Define workstation application in network', I have defined 'Application (path and program)' as '%AUTO%'.

Also, In my desktop, it’s defined which program should be used:

But, when I am trying to open the respective file from transaction 'CV02N', I am getting below error:

Object linking -PO line item

Hi,

 

When user try to link DIR from CV02N, system is allowing to enter PO without item number. When PO is opened not able to view DIR under any of the line item. Please let me know is there config to restrict this issue.
